A Day With An Outreach COO — The Exclusive BizzBee Series

Trust.

It takes years to build up and seconds to destroy it.

Well, it has happened to me a couple of times, and that’s why I learned to be careful with people.

Building a relationship with someone, whether a personal or business it should always be based on trust.

Without trust, there’s no future.

That’s why I am really picky when it comes to my employees because they are the people in whose hands I put my business and my future.

There’s no better feeling than knowing that you have colleagues that you can trust and that they will live up to your expectations.

I am proud to say that I have many such people on my team.

One of them being my outreach COO, Natasha.

She’s the definition of a bee.

Hard-working, full of energy and always on the go.

I can easily turn a blind eye and I know that she’ll run the team as successfully as I do.

1. So who is Natasha? Please tell us a bit more about yourself!

Natasha is one very exhausted girl (laughs). But, she is definitely doing what she loves.

Currently, I’m the COO of the B2B Outreach Agency at BizzBee, and I’m so proud of it. 🥰

My story is a bit of a cliché, I must admit, but I own it and I am very proud of every single step of it.

I’ve started as an intern at BizzBee, worked my way up to being an Outbound Growth Specialist and here I am now, four years later, being the COO.

Man, I’ve done a lot (laughs).

Speaking of my background, I’m a Bachelor of E-business, graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje.

Soon (hopefully) I am about to acquire an MBA, too.

If I have to describe myself, I’d say that I’m a hardworking and honest person, introvert by nature (although my job is changing that day by day).

I have an inborn drive to discover and learn new things and follow the latest technology trends.

2. What does a typical day of an Outreach COO look like?

Sleepy, at first. I’m not a ray of sunshine in the morning. (laughs)

The first thing that I do after I wake up is sip some lemon water.
Then, I make myself a big cup of hot coffee, to jumpstart my brain.

After that, I am all business.

When I arrive at work, the first thing that I do is coordinate with my team. I like to check up on the who’s and the where’s.

If there are any problems, I tend to them immediately.

Once I’m sure we are all on the same page, the “party starts”. Every day is a different story, especially in this type of work. The atmosphere is always dynamic and I battle with all sorts of different scenarios daily.

After a long, challenging day at work, I like to exercise.

Working out helps me relax and unwind and sometimes it even triggers some ideas on how I can improve things at work.

3. What would you say are the key things for running and managing a successful outreach campaign?

Each campaign is a completely different project, and generally speaking, it depends on a lot of factors. If you ask me, a successful outreach campaign requires a perfect mix of just the right elements. If you make the right mix, it works like magic.
However, one of the key things in running a great outreach sequence is to understand the clients’ needs.
Being in the know of their issues and needs gives you the ability to tailor the best outreach tactic for them.

4. How many outreach campaigns have you handled so far?

Well, I’ve handled over 30 outreach campaigns so far, but prior to this, I’ve also been directly involved in the execution of around 10 campaigns. In addition, besides the outreach campaign, my team and I have also been part of dozens of lead generation projects as well.

5. Is there an outreach campaign that you are especially proud of?

I’m proud of every campaign that had a positive outcome, which means that I and my team have done a good job. But, if I have to choose one, it would be that of a client who was promoting an AI marketplace for trade finance assets, and we’ve managed to get them over 50 meetings in few months.

6. You started as an intern at BizzBee, and now you are the Outreach COO. Can you describe that journey and let us in on the secret to your constant progress?

I’m a person who believes that hard work always pays off. Regarding my journey at BizzBee, I’d say that we have some history. It all started a few years ago when I applied for an internship position at BizzBee, which was initially meant to last for 3 months. After my internship program, I’ve been offered a job as a Business Analyst.

However, back at the time, I was a student, I’ve already planned to work outside Macedonia.
So, I left my country for I while and when I returned I was offered a job position at another company. I accepted it, but I really missed what I had in BizzBee. You know what they say, that every experience you have in life leaves a little bit of something within you? Well, BizzBee had definitely left something deep within me.

Luckily for me, that void wasn’t left open for long. Soon, Bizzbee’s project manager offered me to start working at BizzBee again, so this time I took the chance. I’ve started off as a business analyst, but as the services of BizzBee evolved, my job responsibilities evolved as well, so I was promoted to an Outbound Growth Specialist.

After a while, by a set of circumstances I became a Project Manager, and recently became part of the core team of BizzBee as a COO of the B2B Outreach Agency. I think that the key to my progress has been my dedication to the work I’ve been doing and also to my drive to always seek and learn more.

7. Back to the outreach campaigns. You constantly deal with a lot of clients. Is it difficult to juggle so many tasks and people at once?

It is very challenging because as I’ve said each client is different and with each new client a new learning cycle starts. In this cycle, we get the chance to understand who they are, what they do and what they are looking for, so we can adjust our solution in the best way to help them. On another side, there are also the people who are responsible for handling these projects, so their work has to be coordinated as well so that everything runs smoothly.

8. We are well aware of the many different types of clients. What kinds of clients do you enjoy working with the most? Which ones do you find challenging?

Each client is different, so I can’t pick a favourite or less favourite type. Let’s just say that it’s best when you and the client are on the same page, which boosts the campaign’s chances for a positive outcome. However, I guess the goal is to come to that point with each client, so some of them will require less effort, some more, but that’s our job at the end of the day.

9. You are also responsible of electing the outreach interns and employees as well. What’s most important when choosing a suitable candidate?

This is one of my favorite tasks, aside from the regular activities. Besides the regular qualifications that are required, for me one of the key things when I do the interviews has been the ability to connect with that person from the start. To have that ‘click’. After all, we do need to spend 8h a day together, so the person should be a good fit in the current team, and we should be able to communicate easily and understand each other.

10. What’s the worst and what’s the best part of being the Outreach COO?

I wouldn’t say the worst, but let’s say that the most challenging thing is to manage to meet the expectations of each client so that in the end they are happy.

The best part for me personally is the chance to meet so many different business people, hear their stories, and being able to be part of their stories and help them grow.

11. What do you do to unwind after a busy day? Do you have any hobbies or interests that you enjoy doing?

I am a sports type of a gal. And I believe that the best way to release stress and shake work off your shoulders is by moving your body.

So I do.

I’m a huge fan of Shaun T and his insanity program workouts. So, after the busy day, that’s my daily routine to relieve all the accumulated stress.

I also like to read, go out for a cup of coffee with my friends. I also enjoy hiking, listening to Latin music, watching TV shows, go shopping, etc.

And not to forget my cardio, laying on the beach.

Whenever I get the chance, the sea and the sand are my go-to places.

Only then I can say that I have my batteries fully charged and I can roll up my sleeves and get busy with work.
